Less than a year ago, I would’ve never believed that my 6 year old German shepherd could behave in public, not bark like a maniac at other dogs/people, or not drag us down the street during walks. After Juan came into our lives, Riley has turned into a completely different dog. We’ve looked into other training facilities that 1. Was over priced, 2. Told us our dog is “too old”, or 3. Didn’t take the time to teach US how to handle our dog. When Juan met Riley, he was confident that our girl could be trained and his prices were fair and reasonable. He is highly knowledgeable and experienced (he competes with his own Malinois, Echo). We like his approach of teaching dog owners to become dog handlers and the rest will fall in place. We went with the private classes and eventually he encouraged us to attend the group seasons. Long story short, Riley now lives a much more fulfilling life - we take her out for hikes, to the farmers market, to dog friendly restaurants and she will stay by our side and behave. She actually listens to us now! Her reactivity towards dogs has improved tremendously and she is now equipped with the confidence and skills to handle situations that would’ve been overly stimulating or stressful before. The weekly group classes are also an awesome opportunity for the dogs gain exposure to other dogs in a controlled environment. Moving forward, we want to work on off-leash training and further distance recall at Juan’s new property! Thank you Juan and Sarah for sharing your passion for dog training with us.
