It was truly a blessing to train with him. He was initially recommended to me by another dog owner I met in town. When I first reached out to Juan, he responded quickly and took the time to ask what I was specifically looking for in dog training. I own a Belgian Malinois, and from the start he was honest and upfront, explaining that achieving my goals would take time — which I fully expected, especially given the specific skills I requested, such as recall and outing on command. After just two weeks of training, I can confidently say that my dog’s behavior and overall control have improved exponentially. Juan was flexible with my schedule and was even willing to do extra training sessions on days when we were both available. It’s clear that Juan genuinely cares about dogs and about training handlers to build a stronger, more effective relationship with their dogs. We have a Belgian Malinois puppy, Vander, and knew from the start that we would have our work cut out for us. When he was 10 months old, we enrolled our not-so-little pup in JPK9’s Board and Train program. From the initial consultation and finalizing agreements to dropping Vander off, both Juan and Sarah made the entire process seamless and truly put our minds at ease. After just three weeks, Vander came home showing tremendous growth in his manners, focus, and overall behavior. After calling several training companies, we found their fee to be reasonable. They do it ALL – personalized training, group training, board and train or simply board your puppy if you need to take a trip. Their dog training style is easy to understand and most importantly, it works. You should know, I am the proud owner of the “untrainable” Australian Cattle Shepherd. My boy, Dingo, is really smart but he is hardheaded and has a mind of his own. He has nipped at everyone from children to the gardener and of course, us. The final straw happed in the Spring of 2025. We were visiting family at a lakeside village for a week. A small dog had been nipping and barking at Dingo the entire week. On the last day apparently, my dog had endured enough and decided to lunge at the small dog to either nip or bite him. Unfortunately, the small dog’s owner tried to stop Dingo and suffered a terrible and deep scratch plus some bites that were definitely more than nips. This incident prompted us to seek out formal dog training so this could never happen again. My boy, Dingo, is a completely different dog. He is not perfect and he does make mistakes but he is extremely well behaved, knows and illustrates several different commands and is now preparing to be a service dog “flyer” (able to travel on a plane). To say it is a miracle is an understatement. Juan and his wife Sarah have been so instrumental in helping us change our behavior to better train our boy. I cannot say enough how much we appreciate them. They have made a huge difference in the life of our boy and in our life. Because of them, we have a perfect gentleman boy puppy. Wherever we take him, people are impressed with his demeanor and how well behaved his acts. Juan and Sarah, thank you!!!

My Frankie loves Juan and Sarah. We did a Board and Train and Frankie came back such a good boy. When we got Frankie, we couldn't get him to listen to us and did whatever he wanted. Now, Frankie can walk nicely, sit and stay, and recall. Juan was so helpful in training me to keep Frankie's training up. We attend weekly trainings which are such a great help with making sure Frankie and myself are kept well trained.

Juan runs a great training program. I reached out to him to train my Scotty in order for her to be ready to bring home. He then stayed a few days with me to teach me the basics on how to continue to reinforce the training that my Scotty received while with Juan. It was a great experience, and Juan continues to reach out, even a year after, to see how my Scotty is doing. Great service.

We recently adopted a 5 year old pup, Alfie, from a rescue. He is incredibly sweet at home, but had a lot of reactivity on the leash with dogs and at times people. He also was incredibly nervous around new people and was lacking confidence. We decided to have him join the board and train program for 4 weeks. When he came home, he had a new confidence about him! He seemed to feel more secure in himself. He is way less reactive on the leash, loves his at home training time and we are even able to take him to stores with us and he seems excited to be there! So thankful for Juan and Sarah for helping him find his confidence and looking forward to his continued growth (and ours!) through group sessions and at home trainings.

Charlotte is our 8-year old Chi-Terrier rescue who would go into a barking frenzy whenever the doorbell rang, and would lunge and bark at other dogs on our dog walks. She is otherwise such a super sweet girl, so we tolerated those behaviors. But when she started to bite at the ankles/toes of our house guests, we knew we had an unacceptable and dangerous behavior that needed correction. Juan worked with us and our dog in our home, and over 3 sessions, her behavior has radically improved. What we appreciate is that Juan is training us as much as training the dog and providing us the tools that we need. It doesn't take more than a minute to see that Juan 'knows' dogs, and knows their behaviors. In the second minute, you learn to trust Juan and follow his guidance. I can’t recommend Juan enough! My dog had some real challenges before training — leash reactivity, being a little too aggressive toward others, and major recall issues. Since working with Juan, the improvement has been incredible. His one-on-one sessions are focused and super effective, and the group sessions have been amazing for helping my dog socialize in a safe, controlled environment. Juan is patient, knowledgeable, and truly cares about the dogs he works with. If you’re looking for a trainer who can make a real difference, he’s the one!

Juan transformed my dog’s behavior ( Dog and animal reactivity).Juan helped us with obedience, reactivity and Protection work over the past years. The progress we’ve made feels unbelievable. Before Juan we could not take our boy to outings were there would be other dogs. Thanks to Juan we can now enjoy family hikes and outings stress free. Juan also included our kids in the training and handling of our boy which makes life so much easier.

Juan is a great trainer my dog Rudy has benefited immensely from Juan’s board and train 5 week program. Rudy is a great dog with a lot of reactivity. The board and train set a foundation that I am continuing to build on. Juan and Sarah have opened up their business to boarding Rudy while I recently took a vacation. It’s great to know that he was in good hands and that his behavior is kept on track while away knowing that he is in good hands with a loving family who truly love dogs is great peace of mind.
